Travel Guide
Gentle hills, quiet coastal roads and three islands connected by bridges. Sindo is the gateway to Incheon’s Sindo, Sido and Modo island chain, now accessible directly from Yeongjongdo by road.
The gateway to
three connected islands
Sindo Island is part of Bukdo-myeon in Ongjin County, Incheon. Together with neighboring Sido and Modo, it forms a group commonly known as the Three Brother Islands.
The biggest change for travelers came in July 2026, when Sindo Peace Bridge opened between Yeongjongdo and Sindo. A ferry is no longer required, and travelers can now reach the island directly by road.
Sindo itself is known for Gubongsan Mountain, quiet village roads and seasonal scenery. From Sindo, bridges continue to Sido and Modo, allowing travelers to combine mountain walks, beaches, coastal roads and art in a single trip.
How to Get to
Sindo Island
Traveling to Sindo Island no longer requires a ferry. Since July 2026, Sindo Peace Bridge has connected Yeongjongdo directly with Sindo by road.
Travel toward Yeongjongdo
From Seoul or central Incheon, travel toward Yeongjongdo, the island where Incheon International Airport is located.
Cross Sindo Peace Bridge
The bridge connects Yeongjongdo directly with Sindo. It carries cars and motorcycles and also has a shared path for pedestrians and bicycles.
Continue to Sido and Modo
Once you reach Sindo, another bridge connects Sindo with Sido, and a further bridge connects Sido with Modo. All three islands can therefore be explored on one continuous route.
Travel to Yeongjongdo → cross Sindo Peace Bridge → explore Sindo and Gubongsan → cross to Sido → continue to Modo → return by road at your own pace.
