Travel Guide
Long forest ridges, wide tidal flats, quiet beaches and coastal viewpoints. Jangbongdo is an easy island escape from Incheon for travelers who enjoy hiking, beach walks and slow West Sea scenery.
A long island
made for walking
Jangbongdo Island belongs to Bukdo-myeon in Ongjin County, Incheon. Its name reflects the island’s long shape and the series of low peaks stretching from east to west.
The island is known for Ongam Beach, Guksabong Peak, coastal walking routes and wide tidal flats. Unlike the nearby bridge-connected Sindo, Sido and Modo, Jangbongdo is still reached by ferry.
Jangbongdo works especially well for travelers without a packed itinerary. You can spend the morning hiking a forest ridge, walk along the beach in the afternoon and finish the day watching the West Sea from a coastal viewpoint.
