Travel Guide
Spring canola fields, quiet farming roads, a small lighthouse and wide views across the Sinan archipelago. Palgeumdo is a peaceful road-connected island that works especially well as part of a central Sinan road trip.
A small island of
open fields and wide horizons
Palgeumdo Island lies between Amtaedo and Anjwado in central Sinan. Since the opening of the Cheonsa Bridge and the connected island road network, Palgeumdo can be reached from the mainland by car without taking a ferry for a standard sightseeing trip.
The island is known for its broad reclaimed fields and peaceful rural scenery. In spring, large areas of canola turn the landscape yellow, creating one of Palgeumdo’s most recognizable seasonal views.
Away from the fields, travelers can climb toward Chaeilbong Observatory for panoramic views of the surrounding islands, continue to Seogeun Lighthouse on the western coast, and explore historic traces such as the island’s old three-story stone pagoda.
