Travel Guide
A compact fishing island connected to Seonyudo, with pebble shores, rocky coastal scenery and easy access to neighboring Daejangdo. Jangjado is a small but memorable stop on a Gogunsan Archipelago road trip.
A tiny harbor island
between Seonyudo and Daejangdo
Jangjado Island is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Gogunsan Archipelago of Gunsan. It is connected with Seonyudo and can be visited without taking a ferry, making it easy to add to a wider island road trip.
Despite its small size, Jangjado has plenty of character. Its shoreline combines pebble beaches, unusual rock formations, harbor scenery and views across the West Sea. The island was also once known for its anchovy fishing harbor.
Jangjado is also a useful base for exploring nearby islands. Walk toward Daejangdo, enjoy views around Jangja Bridge, or use the passenger ferry landing when traveling onward to outer islands such as Gwanrido, Bangchukdo, Myeongdo and Maldo.
